Stedemon DSM-III Liner Lock G10 EDC Flipper Knife - New worldwide distribution!

Stedemon have released a new knife - the DSM flipper!
It is very interesting not only because of it's features (standard for Stedemon - VG-10 blade, bolstered G10 scales, ball bearings in the embossed pivot and a liner lock), but also because Stedemon is now distributed not only on AliExpress (on the trusted and recommended Vespa Store) or official knife dealers in the US - but on both!
This is simply awesome, because it allows people from all over the world to enjoy free worldwide shipping on their knives and not add more money for worldwide shipping.

I hope more knife companies will follow this trend, as it allows a lot more exposure for their knives, and as it has been proved - some AliExpress stores have the capability to sell even $250+ knives.
The knife can be found here: Stedemon DSM III

Brother Knives 1601 (Manix 2 XL Style) from Gearbest Review - Budget tactical user knife!

I received this one a couple of day ago, and I would like to share my thoughts about it.
I have to admit that first impressions out-of-the-box weren't great - the knife was dry inside (no lube) and stiff. It also had a little blade-play. Also, I didn't quite like the looks of it in person, it was too big, fit and finish weren't great.  I disassembled it, polished the washers, lubed and tweaked the pivot, and the mechanics improved by a mile! Then I tried to use the knife and really understood it's purpose.
This is not a knife to put on a shelf and to look on. This is not a perfect EDC knife. But this is one of the best tactical/user knives I've ever used! Few things contribute to that:
1. Ergonomics - very broad handle and excellent Manix 2 XL forms and gimping placement + pretty good grippy G10 (for a Chinese knife).
2. Very good sharpness out of the box and blade geometry.
3. Awesome lockup and mechanics.
4. Usability - I must admit, I sometimes baby my knives, especially the more premium ones. I mean I use all of them, but if I have some tough task - I will not take an expensive knife with ti handle (if I have a choice). But with this knife - I am really willing to truly hard use it and not feel any remorse, a lot more than my Ganzo folders. This is a very important quality for a knife, especially for a tactical one.
Few cons:
1. The opening hole had some sharp edges, that I smoothed using a sharpening rod.

2. The liners aren't skeletonized (could have saved a lot of weight).
3. Fit and finish aren't perfect.
4. Pocket clip placement isn't optimal.
Overall I'm very pleased with the knife, especially after I worked on it for a while and made those little improvements. I recommend it, especially for people who really use their knives and people who would like to try the awesome design of the Spyderco Manix 2 XL.
The knife can be found on Gearbest: BROTHER 1601

New Ganzo G753 G7531 G7533 - Protech with an Axis Lock!

This, next model from Ganzo Knives was highly anticipated.
After the previous hits, people wanted to see what will the Guangzhou fellas come up with next.

The new model has a resemblance to the Protech TR-5 model, with an exception - it's manual and has the Axis lock instead of button lock.
The knife will come with/without grey coating, and with few handle option: Black, Green, Orange G10 and their version of Carbon Fiber (which is a CF+G10 sandwich laminate),
Overall the new model looks pretty good and follows good Ganzo traditions.

CH Knives Matsuda Style Titanium EDC Flipper Knife - Tactical beauty!

Another new offering from CH knives - Kiku Matsuda's design inspired folder.
It is based on Kiku's first folder - the "Subaru" (KM-610), but has some significant differences, so can't be really called a clone or a replica.
It has the standard CH knives package - anodized titanium scales, milled ti pocket clip, bearings in the pivot and stonewashed D2 blade.
In the best Chinese tradition it will come with a key for the pivot.

Knife can be found here: Matsuda KM-610 Style Flipper

Titanium Paramilitary 2 Compression Lock Knife - Chinese sprint run!

This knife should have been done a long long time ago by Spyderco.
But while Sal Glesser and Co are busy producing the Paramilitary 3, the Chinese have stepped up and made this awesome model happen.
At this point, I would really love to know if the scales would fit the genuine one, cause that would be amazing.
The reported weight of this one is 6.35 oz (180g), but I suspect that this weight includes the package weight.
This knife joins the already made Titanium Military, and I hope that it'll inspire the folks at Golden Colorado to produce a genuine one.

Check out the knife here: Ti Para 2

Genuine Para 2 is sold here: Spyderco Paramilitary 2

2016 Chinese Slysz Bowie Clone Titanium Framelock EDC Knife from Aliexpress

Martin Slysz Bowie Clone Review - Awesome EDC knife, best Sebenza alternative!

I received this knife a couple of days ago.
Overall I was pleasantly surprised by this one - I thought it to be more of a tactical blade, but it is actually more of a perfect EDC blade. It reminded me a lot of a CRK Sebenza 21 in the overall feel - same smoothness out of the box, similar lock, rounded spine and gimping.
There is no bladeplay, lockup is tight in every direction. Out of the box there was a small amount of lock stick - but it is gone now (after disassembly), blade centering is perfect.
Fit and finish are excellent, great looking stone-wash on the blade and the handle, that will hide scratches and snail trails  from EDC  carry. I very much liked the bead blast on the hardware and the pocket clip and I wish more knives will be made with those.
Came sharp out of the box and pretty thin behind the edge - 0.48 - 0.7 mm on the tip.
After disassembly, cleaning, polishing the washers and applying lube - it became even smoother and now can be flicked out with one hand.
Verdict - one of the best knives for EDC use, a real Sebenza killer!

New Ganzo Knives Models: Ganzo G7582 AL G7582AL Aluminum Handle Auto Knife and Ganzo G756 G7563 BM940 Style!

Ganzo Knives just don't stop!
This Chinese manufacturer have put out more models this year than almost any other knife company, and they have no intention to slow down!

2 more models are available now, and man, aren't those long anticipated and special!
This knives are only available at DHGate in the present, will probably appear for lower prices soon on Gearbest and Fasttech.
1. Ganzo G7852AL - New automatic knife with safety lock and aluminium handles (at last).
Aluminium is one of the best materials to make auto knife handles from, because it can nest the mechanics, while being rugged and light (relatively to steel).
The design is heavily influenced by ProTech knives. Comes with a stonewashed blade in 6 colors.

2. Ganzo G756 - Long anticipated model, at least by me. "Inspired" by the fan favorite Benchmade 940 model model, this will make an excellent light EDC knife. Has the standard Ganzo package - "Axis" lock, anodized thumb studs, screws and handle-blade colors-materials combinations.

New Ganzo G750 G7501 and G749 G7492 - Original design with unique features!

Ganzo's are really hot right now.
The China-based company have managed to put out a lot of models in this year, while keeping the quality and QC on a pretty high level and even improving them on some models and with that leave the price at a sub-$20 level.
This is why Ganzo knives are appreciated all over the world by almost all knife lovers, not only Chinese knife admirers.
Today I would like to present 2 more offerings from this company, which show the 2 model directions that this company is heading to:

1. Ganzo G750 G7501 - This folder is a more traditional Ganzo folder with features like the "Axis lock", anodized thumb studs, washers and G10 handles and backspacer. The new feature in this knife are the glowing stripes on the sides, which make it visible and easier to find in the dark.
Ganzo G7503 CF version is also available.

2. Ganzo G749 G7492 - A new direction for Ganzo are the flippers with ball bearings in the pivot. This is the successor of the popular G752 model. This line is also featured with the bolster lock - framelock with G10 overlay and with a deep carry pocket clip.

Microtech Anax Style Integral Aluminim Handle Knife - Improved version from Green Thorn!

Microtech Anax model came out a few years ago and instantly became one of Microtech's most interesting models. Most of the interest came from an integral handle, ball bearings in the pivot, awesome blade grind and the wicked Ti lanyard. The party killer in this case was the +$1000 price tag. The future of the model is uncertain at this time because of ZT claims to the subframe lock used in it.
Our Chinese friends also liked this model very much and Wild Boar released the first version, using aluminium instead of titanium to cut costs. The model received great feedback.
Now, Green Thorn released the upgraded version of the knife. The differences are better gimping (looks more like the original), bronze anodized hardware and overall better Green Thorn quality control.

Microtech Ultratech Style Tanto Clone with Aluminium Handle Review - Great entry level OTF knife!

Just received my Ultratech Clone from Common Lancehead Knives.
First impressions are great - the knife came very well packed in a Microtech Style box with a nylon sheath and a cloth. Out of the box it is sharp, the mechanics work fine, no initial screw ups, has little bladeplay (which is ok for this type of knife).

Pros:
- Fit and finish are excellent, on par with original knives from Microtech.
- Mechanics are awesome (got better from the initial after I put some oil inside).
- It came sharp with even grind and bevels.
- Bladeplay got even smaller with time.
-  Very good pocket clip.

Cons:
- The knife came dry, it is very important to put oil inside to protect the spring.
- It is a little bit thick behind the edge.
- The knife came with some stains on the blade, which were gone after cleaning with WD40.
- Screws need to be put on Locktite.
*All the cons are just me being picky.
Overall the knife is awesome, I am very pleased with it.
It is made better and performs better than any other entry level OTF knife, especially considering the price.
Knife can be found here: Ultratech Style.

Genuine Microtech Ultratech is sold here: Microtech Ultratech
