The 0909 knife, which has a Les George style design is now available for sale on AliExpress.

The knife features black G-10 handles, a linerlock, bearings in the pivot and D2 (probably 9Cr18MoV) blade steel.
A good tactical option, if you need that extra strength.
Still would prefer it to not have an original logo on the blade.

Are Kevin John Knives now sold under the CKF Brand? The Venom New Concept Knife!

Just a quick piece of fresh Chinese Knife news:
Earlier I wrote an article about how CKF knives were produced in China by the Kevin John factory (which has exceptional quality and QC BTW). Some people were skeptical about this fact and didn't believe it was the truth.
Now we got another proof of the CKF-Kevin John relationship in a form of a knife that is now being sold as a CKF knife, but with the same markings and under the same name - The Venom New Concept.
It is identical in every single way - they didn't even change the name or the marking on the blade!
This have already happen before with the CKF Daboia (Kevin John's Venom 2).
To those, who might say that Kevin John stole the design and produced it before CKF, I could prove, that it is not the case and that the Kevin John knife appeared much earlier.
It is interesting if this process will continue, and we will see more of Kevin Johns knives on the US market (they have an integral Venom knife in production, I'll update on that later).

You are welcome to check out the knives and draw conclusions:

The new CKF Knife: CKF Venom New Concept Knife
The one from Kevin John: Kevin John's Venom New Concept
(The fuller in the blade is edited to comply with AliExpress knife laws).

Emerson Super Karambit Clone Knife Review - Budget Tactical EDC Awesomeness!

I received this knife a few weeks ago, and I must say I am very impressed!
For <$15, it has pretty good fit, finish and overall quality.
Other pros:
- Good action out of the box, runs on nylon washers.

- Blade is centered, no blade play in any direction, has steel linerlock, which functions great.
- Wave feature works well, so does the blade cutout opening.
- Came pretty sharp, especially the tip.
- Clip, G10, steel liners, hardware - all are fine.
Cons:
- Arrived with some glue on the G10 scales (eventualy came off).
- Steel is pretty soft (although for a karambit it's not very important).
- Has original Emerson logo on the blade.

Overall, a great knife to try the awesome Emerson Karambit design, I liked it very much.
BTW - it is possible to dull out the blade and use it as a trainer.

I bought the knife here: Emerson Super Karambit Clone

The Dwaine Carrillo Tunnel Ratt Clone Review + vs Medford Praetorian Clone - Battle of Clone Beasts!

There is a segment in the knife world, where size and weight make no difference - the overbuilt hard use no nonsense folders, which are appreciated only for strength - strength and durability. These monsters are very popular and usually have a pretty high price-tag, so they are being cloned on regular basis.
One of those folders, that I owned, was the Praetorian clone and another, which I received  now is the Dwaine Carrillo Tunnel Ratt Clone, and I would like to compare them and make a review of the Ratt on the way.
I'll start with the things that are similar in both knives - they both have great lockup, pretty good action for a knife on washers, similar construction (steel frame + G10 scale) and approximate weight of 8oz (227g).
The Praetorian - has better finish (soother edges), is less thick behind the edge and sharper .
The Tunnel Ratt - has better ergonomics (thicker handle and better gimping), thicker blade (6mm), and one handed opening (over sized thumb studs). It also has a far better pocket clip.
The looks are very subjective - some like the looks of the Praetorian, others prefer the Tunnel Ratt.

Verdict - both blades will serve you well, not as EDC knives, but as hard use folders.
Praetorian is slimmer and wider, while the Tunnel Ratt is chubbier.
If you care about one handed opening - Tunnel Ratt is the way to go.

If you live in a state/country, where one handed opening is prohibited - get the Praetorian.
Anyway - if you liked the one, you will most probably like the other.

EDC Fidget Bearing Spinners on AliExpress - Great budget alternative to try a new hobby!

Check out the new trend on AliExpress - budget fidget EDC spinners!
Those things are really hot right now and many people already have one, but because of the high demand - their price are still pretty high, too high IMO to try if you actually like these new toys.
The Chinese are as always very aware of the new trends and they made their version, that is very similar to the most popular offerings from spinner makers.

Check the Triangular here: Triangular Fidget Spinner
Other designs here: EDC Fidget spinners
Also can be found on Amazon: Yomaxer Tri-Spinner Fidget Toy

Sinkevich Custom Koordinal Clone Titanium Framelock Flipper Knife - Another awesome design cloned!

Guess the Chinese makers really love Dmitri Sinkevich's designs.
Otherwise it will be hard to explain so many of his models being cloned lately with the best materials, including milled titanium, carbon fiber and M390 steel.
Ok, maybe not so hard to explain - everybody likes Sinkevich's designs.
He has made a long way from Belarus to the peak of knifemaking with the ZT collaboration.
Now there are 4 versions of clones of the design (all come without the logo):
1. The most premium version is the Vespa CF+Ti+M390, it is also the most expensive one.
2. Vespa Ti+M390 version, also has 3 row ceramic bearings.
3. Green Thorn Ti+D2 version - 4 color options and double row ceramic bearings.
4. Monkey G10+Steel linerlock version - the budget friendly version with steel bearings and 6 color options.

0392 Style Titanium Flipper EDC No Logo Knife from AliExpress- Hinderer done better than Hinderer?

Due to popular demand - I want to post a quick review of my 0392 clone knife.
It is  pretty awesome and I was pleasantly surprised when I got it.
Pros:
1. Very smooth action - runs on bearings, falls when frame is disengaged.
2. Good fit and finish.
3. Very early but solid lockup.
4. Great symmetric grind on the stonewashed D2 blade.
5. Great flipper.
6. Awesome ti pocket clip.

Cons:
1. Inconsistent anodizing on the screws.
2. T6 torx screws on the handle.
Other than that, it's an awesome knife, especially if you would like to try that awesome Hinderer design.

Y-Start Jin02 EDC Axis Lock Knife Review from GearBest - Better than Ganzo G7533?

For the comparison I used the very popular Ganzo G7533 model, which I received at about the same time.
The comparison:
Overall fit and finish - pretty much the same level of quality, both have milled liners and excellent fit and finish, maybe a slight advantage for the Jin02.
Mechanics and lockup - a clear win for the Jin02 - perfect centering, 0 blade play in any direction and much smoother action right out of the box (bearings in the pivot) give it a clear advantage over the Ganzo (even after I polished the washers on a Ganzo).
Axis lock - is easier to disengage on the Jin, but it is also a bit stiffer and has sharper edges, so a tie at this point.
Blade steel and shape - A slight advantage to the Jin, due to FFG (Full Flat Grind) shape, thinner grind and D2 steel (EDIT: later found out Ystart use 7Cr17MoV and label it as D2. Can't get much more for the price).
Ergonomics - I personally prefer the Ganzo, it sits a little bit better in my Medium sized hand but the Jin is OK as well (it is individual).
Pocket clip - If there is a weaker side on the Jin, it is it's pocket clip. Ganzo clearly takes this one, due to to the more stiff, pointy polished clip on the Jin. Also the Jin's clip creates a small "hot spot" in my hand while squeezing it hard in the hand.
Verdict - the Jin02 is an awesome knife and will serve you well as an EDC blade.
It's clear advantages are the mechanics, overall quality (especially in the details) and the better cutting blade shape.
If you care about those things in the knife, you will probably like the Jin02 a lot.
I got mine here: Y-Start Jin02
Same knife on Amazon: Y-Start Jin02

Guide to Chinese Ceramic/Steel Kitchen Knives from Aliexpress - Become a chef at affordable price!

AliExpress has a great selection of good quality affordable kitchen knives.
I've selected the best (in my opinion), and would like to tell you about them and show where they can be bought.

Xinzuo Damascus style steel knives:

One good option is ordering steel knives with micarta handle.
Advantages: Great quality,
look and feel in hand better than the ceramic ones, come very sharp with good blade geometry and have a comfortable micarta handle.
Disadvantages: Cost more than others. Can rust if not stored properly. Also - the damascus is not a real one and probably not made from VG-10 steel, fells more like VG-1.

Here: http://bit.ly/28ISOa4
Or here: http://amzn.to/2jMkyKf

Ceramic knives:

Ceramic knives became very popular in the past years.
Their advantages are: great edge retention (far better than steel), comfortable handles, no corrosion and no metal smell or taste. These knives used to be very expensive, but due to the latest development in technology - they are now very affordable for most households.
The disadvantages are: ceramic knives can break if dropped (just like dishes) and are more complicated to re-sharpen if they loose the edge, but at the price, you can just order new ones.
I own 2 sets of the knives, they have served me for more than a year now, and the edge is still very sharp to this day.

Here are few good options to purchase these knives:
ABS (Resin) handles - http://bit.ly/28IrZma

Bamboo handles - http://bit.ly/28IOYcB

Very Cool 4 piece Set:
Really unique design 4 piece set, that can be stored altogether to save room in the kitchen cabinet. This, in my opinion, can be a great gift to any aspiring chef/cook.
Can be found here: https://goo.gl/oNAAlj

Stainless steel knives:
Good, simple, affordable option.
Behave like a regular knife, that you buy in a kitchen store, with regular stainless steel, but is probably cheaper to order them from AliExpress.

Few good options:
Chef knife: http://bit.ly/28IP72F
Cleaver: http://bit.ly/28ITqMF
Affordable set: http://bit.ly/28J9ZaU

Sharpeners for kitchen knives:
Good options to keep your knives nice and sharp.
