Newest Ganzo Firebird Models FB762 and FB763 have reached Gearbest!

2 newest and highly anticipated Ganzo models - the FB762 and the FB763 have finally reached Gearbest and seem to be even better (IMO) than advertised by Ganzo a while before the release.

First of all they continue the line of original designs (although we can notice some influence from other knives, but that is practically inevitable in today's market), but not enough to be called clones and even homages.

Second of all - they continue to listen to their customers and FINALLY dropped the blue hardware that was kind of annoying at this point (still hope they will master black hardware some day) and installed deep carry pocket clips on the FB762.

And finally - the FB model name theory have been finally confirmed, so they do come with ball bearings in the pivot and have smooth action out of the box.

Check out the knives here (Specs in the lower right corner):

They have actually released one more model under the Firebird brand which is the Ganzo F713M (indicating that this is a part of their older series).
If you noticed this is actually an OEM version of another knife - the SOG Salute Mini, but without all of the SOG billboarding all over the knife (which is an advantage IMO).
At this point I have no doubt Ganzo are the OEM factory for SOG.
BTW - the full size (SOG Salute) version is also in the works.

Ganzo F7551 GanzoCleaver have finally reached GearBest!

Sorry for the long absence guys, have been a bit busy lately, so posted mostly on the social media.

Follow me on the social platforms (links are in the first post of the blog) to catch the latest releases and news.

Today just a quick update on the newest Ganzo model that have been around for a while in the US, but has just reached one of the largest knife retailers out of China - Gearbest, which always seem to have the best prices for most knives that come out of China.

So, the new Cleaver model has original design (as much as a cleaver knife could be different from other cleavers), but still has a G-Lock, so is probably the first Cleaver to come with that lock or a similar one.

It also has a generous finger choil for choking up on the blade, blued thumb studs and hardware.

It comes in 4 colors: black, OD green and orange G10 + CF laminate.

Gearbest 3rd Anniversary Promotion Sale!

Gearbest  celebrates it's third anniversary!
Though it sometimes seems that it has been here forever, it is a pretty young business with a great business plan.
If you haven't heard of this already - Gearbest supports the knife and gear community by supplying knives, flashlights and other gear for reviews, so you have a chance to see all the info about the product before purchasing it.
They also have great customers service and many payment options, including PayPal.
I've been buying on the site from the beginning, mainly because of the lower prices online for certain items (such as Ganzo knives).
In the late 2016 I've posted about a problem they had with shipping knives to certain countries (including South Africa, South America, Russia and others), but as of now they have fixed all of the problems and the knives ship without any problem.

Check out all of the coupons and deals for the sale:

1. Knives and Gear

2. Electronics
3. Lighting and Flashlights

Also, there is a coupon for 10% discount for all the products on the site: GB3rd

As many of you have probably seen - GearBest have encountered a problem with their shipping during the last month, unable to ship to most countries in the world, including US.

The good part is - it seems that they have lowered the priced, so the total price stayed approximately the same, one of the lowest online!
They have also released the newest offering from Ganzo/Firebird Knives - the CF F756!

Ganzo 753 G753 CF G7533CF (Sandwitched Carbon Fiber G10 Laminate) Review - Premium knife on a budget!

I finally received my Ganzo G7533CF knife, and would like to tell you my thoughts about it.
Doing this I will try not to repeat all other reviews, that were done by pretty much everyone online.
First of all I liked the new packaging, especially the new Firebird branded microfiber cloth that now comes instead of the previous low quality one.
Out of the box impressions - the knife came pretty stiff, although oiled and pretty hard to disengage, due to the hard springs of the Axis lock. Sharpness out of the box was great, so was the cutting edge symmetry. One thing I noticed right out of the box was the knife's excellent fit and finish, a rare thing to see on a sub $20 blade.
Because the knife was stiff - I gave it my new-knife-treatment - disassembly, cleaning of the factory oil. polishing the washers (and the blade tang) and tweaking. The knife had 2 washers - one was nylon and the other made from a yellow metal (probably bronze) and the knife was pretty dirty inside. Also I understood what needed to be done to smoothen the knife - because of the coating the G7533 needed to be broken in longer than other blades. After I did all the procedures and opened/closed it about 200 times - the knife became much smoother (even the Axis lock became much softer).
Pros:
1. The Firebird logo - definitely a plus, would be happy if it will replace the Ganzo logo completely.
2. The grey coating - doesn't look cheap and seems to be more durable than paint. Same coating is applied to the pocket clip and even the liners - that is a huge plus!
3. The geared G10 backspacer and the oversized lanyard hole - 2 definite keepers.
4. Lockup is excellent both ways, even when the blade runs smoothly.
5. Ergonomics and gimping are good.
6. The weight reducing cutouts in the liners - Finally they listened.
Cons:
1. The centering is a bit off (not touching the liner).
- The blued hardware and the sandwitched Carbon Fiber G10 laminate - Was on the fence about both. I mean they look nice and done well, but I probably could live without any of them as in my opinion they disturb the overall look, especially when the Axis stayed silver color. Also - I would really like to see Ganzo put real CF scales on a knife, even if it will cost $10 more.
Overall - I really liked this knife, the fit and finish, the action and the attention to details.
I believe it can make an excellent EDC knife, but also as an inexpensive gift or a first knife.
This is the most technologically advanced one in a while and I wish Ganzo will continue to improve and cheer us with their future products.

New Ganzo G753 G7531 G7533 - Protech with an Axis Lock!

This, next model from Ganzo Knives was highly anticipated.
After the previous hits, people wanted to see what will the Guangzhou fellas come up with next.

The new model has a resemblance to the Protech TR-5 model, with an exception - it's manual and has the Axis lock instead of button lock.
The knife will come with/without grey coating, and with few handle option: Black, Green, Orange G10 and their version of Carbon Fiber (which is a CF+G10 sandwich laminate),
Overall the new model looks pretty good and follows good Ganzo traditions.
