CH Knives CH3504 3504 Skull S35VN Flipper Knife Review

I got this knife pretty long time ago and am now ready to do a review on it.

The knife came directly from China and took a bit more than a month to arrive.

First impressions:
The CH3504 arrived in a CH Knives branded black cardboard presentation box.
It had no issues out of the box - it was smooth, blade was centered, no fit & finish issues, had no bladeplay whatsoever, pretty early lockup and was razor sharp out of the box (shaved hair and cut paper without any effort).
I did however take out the ti backspacer to have a better balance and an open construction.
One thing is pretty important to mention - the finish on the blade was a much finer stonewash than what I've seen in other reviews.

Pros:
- The great original design.

- Stunning looks - graphics and the black-gold finish.
- Overall quality out of the box.
- The little details, like the rubber o-rings that prevent accidental opening of the pivot screw.
- Great ergos that will fit most hand sizes.
- S35VN steel - haven't given me reasons to question it and has kept a great edge.
- Price - an S35VN ti flipper with ceramic bearing for this price has amazing value.

Cons:
- The flipper tab functions well, but isn't the most comfortable one out there.
- The pocket clip is pretty stiff.

Summary:
- I'm not the first to review this knife online but it was important for me to share my thoughts and experience with you guys. The knife is great and I'm glad I got it.
Lately I am less and less drawn to clones and fakes (still glad I got those as I learned a lot about knives because of them) and more to the original designs that come out of China.
BTW - I'm thinking to give this one away in my upcoming giveaway, please share in the comments if you would like to see this as a prize.

Are Kevin John Knives now sold under the CKF Brand? The Venom New Concept Knife!

Just a quick piece of fresh Chinese Knife news:
Earlier I wrote an article about how CKF knives were produced in China by the Kevin John factory (which has exceptional quality and QC BTW). Some people were skeptical about this fact and didn't believe it was the truth.
Now we got another proof of the CKF-Kevin John relationship in a form of a knife that is now being sold as a CKF knife, but with the same markings and under the same name - The Venom New Concept.
It is identical in every single way - they didn't even change the name or the marking on the blade!
This have already happen before with the CKF Daboia (Kevin John's Venom 2).
To those, who might say that Kevin John stole the design and produced it before CKF, I could prove, that it is not the case and that the Kevin John knife appeared much earlier.
It is interesting if this process will continue, and we will see more of Kevin Johns knives on the US market (they have an integral Venom knife in production, I'll update on that later).

You are welcome to check out the knives and draw conclusions:

New A2 Titanium 3'' Flipper - Great Small EDC Flipper Knife!

Newest offering in the EDC small flipper segment is the A2 compact 3'' EDC flipper knife.
It became available a few weeks ago, but was sold at a pretty high price.
Now it is available in the great LDT store, that gives good service and is pretty reliable (I ordered from them a few times).
It features titanium blue anodized backspacer and pocket clip, ball bearings in the pivot and comes in 2 versions - the "S35VN" blade + plain handle and "VG10" fluted handle.
(Can't really guarantee the blade steel is exactly as described, but LDT usually put out good quality knives, so I wouldn't worry that the steel will be soft).
Don't miss the $2 coupon, that is given in the store.

Knife can be found here: A2 titanium flipper knife

Borka Blades Stitch Style Knife made by Samier Knives - Another big hit cloned!

After Rad Knives Field Cleaver clone, here comes another gem of the knife world - the Borka Blades Stitch Clone!
The original knife has an awesome design, great ergos and build, but also has a very heavy price tag - to own one of those, you will have to part with at least $2000.
This made it a very big target for clone knife makers, and Samier was the first to react.
The clone features ti handle, a framelock, listed S35VN steel, bearings in the pivot and a milled ti pocket clip.
It comes in 2 variations:
1. Rock pattern ricasso
2. Plain ricasso

MG Knives on AliExpress - Great quality, affordable price, original design, worldwide shipping - what more can you wish for?

I'd like to present you a relatively small Chinese brand - MG Knives.
From the start, their goal was to make great quality, original design knives, that will be available and affordable to almost every knife lover and collector.
They also use good knife steels (N690 and S35VN) and have good quality control and limited production, so every knife will have a serial number (excluding the scalpel).
They are sold on AliExpress at Ben's Knife Shop (former Dicoria), which is a trusted and reliable seller, who has great service, so you can buy without worry.

The Knives:
1. MG Shuttle: Newest and probably the most successful model of them all.
Has great quality, S35VN blade, anodized titanium handle and great action (ball bearings installed). The knife received excellent reviews and is highly appreciated among knife collectors.

Can be found here: http://bit.ly/1TXJclQ

2. MG Tyrant: This knife was very popular about a year ago, disappeared, and now it's back in stock. It has a good steel (N690), ball bearings, titanium framelock , original design and unique handle graphic and milling. The knife received great reviews.

Can be found here: http://bit.ly/29sH5ZB

3. MG Mothership: Old design, new production. Has titanium framelock, N690 blade, ball bearings and handle milling.

Can be found here: http://bit.ly/29ndfF5

4. MG Tactical Scalpel: A great item to add to your EDC. Has S35VN nandle/blade and kydex sheath.

Cheers!

New High-End Chinese Knife Brand - Viteli Knives Top1 Titanium Flipper - CKF Style on a budget!

CKF (Custom Knife Factory) have really made an impact in the knife world.
Suddenly, original design and great quality became important and very cool, even if the knife itself was (partly) made in China.

The thing I like about the Chinese knife makers is that they really try to keep up with the trends in the knife world, they study the market through people's likes and choices, and for what they lack in originality - they compensate in great materials and quality for the money.
From these principals (just like Kevin John, MG Knives, Vespa and Green Thorn) - the Viteli knife brand was born.
This is a cocktail of different design features from different makers, that were tastefully put together to form a great looking knife. Add to this the standard high-end Chinese knife package (S35VN stonewashed blade, steel insert\overtravel stopper on the frame, milled titanium handles, ceramic ball bearings and milled Ti pocket clip) and you have a winning formula.

WE Knives 601, 602- Very cool original design, high end manufacturing - the future is here!

WE Knives is a relatively new brand, that is taking the knife world by storm!

These knives feature original design and high end manufacturing, which puts them on the front end of high end folders.
But what I like the most about this company, is the fact that they know what knife lovers like and want, and are very customer prone (for example they add a knife pouch and  a second set of hardware for free).
